In software project course class A term 2 2020/2021, students are asked to develop three software products, which are Pilar Home Industry, TBCare, and BisaGo. Students are divided into several groups based on the result of talent and interest survey. There is a difference between class A and other software project classes. In class A, students don’t arrange their own groups. They are assigned by the lecturer and its assistants. The products which are developed by students in this term are continuation of work of software project course students in previous terms.

Pilar Home Industry

Pilar Home Industry is a software product in an android platform which intends to connect small and medium enterprises (SME) to potential customers. From my analysis, covid-19 pandemic in the beginning of 2020 triggers two problems that the product tries to solve, which are the weakening SMEs and obstacles to make donation and transaction.

The product tries to solve the weakening SMEs through belanja (shopping) feature. There are many SMEs that either still sell their products by conventional means or face harsh competition in existing e-commerce applications. Some SMEs still sell their products conventionally because existing e-commerce applications have not reached their market. Existing e-commerce applications also have their SME partners compete with big corporations since big corporations can spend money on advertising and promotion more, therefore having users prefer them to SMEs. In this product, users can use the belanja feature in which they can see a list of available SMEs. When they click on an SME, they can see a list of offered products. They can preorder or directly order them if the products are available.

The product tries to solve the second problem through donasi (donation) and riwayat (history) features. It also eases payment by providing cash-on-delivery (COD) and bank transaction. From my observation, existing donation applications still have more focus on individual and disaster donation, while have less on place of worship (except the construction) and activity (like an event). Although some places of worship have provided cashless donation, most of them still only have the bank account number or QR code (for donation) physically in them. The donasi feature allows users to see a list of places and activities that can be donated. When they click a place or an activity, they can see a description of the place or the activity and make a donation.

TBCare

TBCare is a software product which intends to simplify the process of monitoring tuberculosis cases in Depok. It is developed in two platforms, website and mobile application. The website is created to help administrators and the mobile application is created to help field officers. It is developed in collaboration with Perkumpulan Pemberantasan Tuberkolosis Indonesia Kota Depok (PPTI Depok). From my analysis, inefficient manual paperwork is the main problem that the product tries to solve.

The mobile application solves the problem by allowing the field officers inputting the data of a contact investigation. The inputted data is then proceeded to the TBCare database. The mobile application also allows the field officers to monitor tuberculosis cases in Depok and see the history of contact investigation. When the field officers click on the button Mencatat Investigasi Kontak, the mobile application will direct them to a form where they used to input manually. The field officers can also input monitoring checkups by clicking on the button Memantau Kasus TB. The website allows the administrators to access the TBCare database. In the website, the administrators can manage case data. The administrators can also see the statistics of the case data and export it to spreadsheet format.

BisaGo

BisaGo is a software product in an android platform which allows people to inform and be informed about facilities for people with disabilities. From my analysis, the lack of information about facilities for people with disabilities in Indonesia is the problem that the product tries to solve.

The product provides three features, which are adding facility information, seeing facility information, and rating the facilities. When users open the product, they can search a specific place. If the place is found, they will be directed to the page with facility information there. On that page, they can see a list of facilities there and like or dislike the facility that they see. They can also add new facility information by clicking on the button tambah review. After they click the button, they can add a picture, write a description, add search tags, and give a score.

Conclusion

Many problems around us can be solved by technology. If some technology may do some harm to humanity, those are the fault of the users, not the technology.
